Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and foster a positive environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect at all times. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or autism support. Responsibilities Provide direct assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Provide services outlined in the Person-Centered Plan for each individual supported by ASCC, ensuring that goals developed, implemented, and progress toward those goals are being met Assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living activities in the home and community Administer medication(s) according to guidelines Aid in implementing treatments, training programs, and developmental/behavioral plans Encourage community participation Document all observations and daily progress notes Monitor and report any concerns regarding an individual's living conditions; ensure Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and OHCQ regulations are met for all home environments Communicate effectively with team members Assist individuals in performing their cleaning responsibilities Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and shopping Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by your supervisor Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Must have Driver's License and personal vehicle Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication management, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus. Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL) to support residents who are deaf or hard of hearing. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, Alzheimer's disease or memory care needs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts. Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
