In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and residents in assisted living or long-term care settings. Your energy and enthusiasm will help foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment where residents can thrive. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while developing your caregiving skills in a dynamic, supportive setting. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring dietary needs are met in accordance with care plans. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to promote safety during transfers. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and shared spaces. Document all care activities thoroughly, including resident progress notes and incident reports, ensuring compliance with facility policies. Support residents' social engagement by encouraging participation in activities and fostering positive interactions within the group home or community setting. Drive residents when needed for appointments or outings, ensuring safety and adherence to transportation protocols. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of caregiving practices including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Certification in first aid is required; CPR certification is a plus. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes. Physical ability to lift residents using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment safely; stamina for standing and walking throughout shifts.
