Job Description

Help Make a Difference in Someone's Life
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday 9am-4pm (35 hours/week, full time with benefits) Pay rate $21.12 per hour LOCATON - University Blvd. in Silver Spring, MD National Children's Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is one of the region's largest non-governmental providers of services for people with developmental disabilities, offering an array of services to adults in the Washington metropolitan area. Our mission is to provide a lifetime of opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional provides adults with IDD the services and supports they need to live a fulfilling and meaningful life in the community. You will be responsible for the support, teaching and supervision of all people in our Adult Day or Companion Care programs. You are a member of the person's circle of support, providing opportunities for people to grow and learn new skills and make connections to their community and realize their dreams. In addition, you are responsible for intervening and resolving crisis situations and providing emergency CPR and First Aid if required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide supervision and protective support of assigned people throughout scheduled shift to ensure their well-being, growth and development Plan and implement daily activities to meet person-centered choices, utilizing community resources Maintain ongoing knowledge and understanding of established levels of support and supervision requirements under the person's plan of care Provide electronic evaluation and progress reports including daily data collection on formal goals and objectives using our computerized system, Therap
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION HS
