Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor residents' vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health and safety Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, using specialized techniques to promote comfort and engagement Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities accurately Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines while accommodating individual preferences and restrictions Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA). Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is encouraged Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Commitment to respecting residents' rights and promoting dignity in all care activities Completion of required Maryland Assisted Living Initial Staff Training.
