Independent Support Service Worker - Cumberland County Catholic Charities $17.69 - $17.69 401(k), mileage reimbursement United States, Maine, Portland Jun 29, 2026 Description Are you looking for flexible, meaningful work where you can make a difference every day? Catholic Charities Maine is hiring Independent Support Services Workers to support seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes located in Cumberland County, Maine. This position will be 20-29 hours per week.
What You'll Do:
Help clients remain independent in their homes Provide housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation Run errands (groceries, pharmacy, appointments) Transport clients using your personal vehicle Offer companionship and support with daily tasks Follow care plans and complete simple online documentation
What We're Looking For:
Compassionate, dependable, and respectful individuals Comfortable working independently in clients' homes Strong boundaries and respect for confidentiality Basic computer skills Experience is a plus, but not required-we will train the right person

Qualifications Educational Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED certificate is preferred. Basic computer skills and the ability to print neatly are required.
Requirements:
Reliable personal vehicle (required) Basic technology skills (required) Active email address Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., walk, climb stairs, and perform household tasks Must have your own reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Daily travel between client homes is required.
