Position Summary
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE - WEEKDAYS ONLY. NO EVENING, WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY WORK.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Jackson County Department on Aging is looking for experienced Home Care Workers to provide essential in-home support services to older adults, promoting their well-being and independence. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, personal care assistance, and respite care for primary caregivers, all in accordance with individualized client care plans. The Home Care Assistant fosters a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment while maintaining accurate service records and providing social and emotional support to clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience:
Some experience working with older adults required.
Other Requirements:
Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License.
Relevant Skills/Specialized Equipment Knowledge:
  • Basic office equipment such as telephone, calculator, photocopier, Fax, etc.
  • Ability to operate a smart phone and it's mapping application.
  • Ability to document services provided to clients and client observations.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to provide emotional and social support to clients.
  • Ability to provide services for older adults who on occasion may have high physical and cognitive disabilities.
Criminal background check, driving record history, and drug screen required.
