Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe health status changes, and accurately document patient observations to ensure timely interventions. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring safety during meal times. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders, fostering a positive environment. Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning client living areas to promote hygiene and safety. Support clients with transportation needs for medical appointments or community outings while ensuring personal safety and comfort. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely and respond appropriately to changes in condition or behavior. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Knowledge of care plans, medication administration protocols, and patient monitoring techniques is essential. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care experience are a plus. Familiarity with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance enhances your ability to deliver safe support.
