Monday to Friday - 8:30AM to 3:30PM Direct Support Professional (DSP) The Direct Support Professional (DSP) empowers adults with disabilities through hands-on experiences like animal care, gardening, art, and community activities—helping them build skills, confidence, and independence. At Dutton Farm, we focus on structured, hands-on learning to develop communication, social, and pre-vocational skills. Our programs include on-site activities and community outings such as volunteering and recreational experiences that promote independence, self-advocacy, and social awareness.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct Support:
Support individuals in achieving their goals and maximizing independence Ensure a safe environment and report concerns promptly Promote engagement in on-site programming and activities Assist participants in animal care, gardening, art, and other hands-on experiences Teach and reinforce appropriate skills through meaningful activities Encourage positive social interactions and relationship-building Provide support with tasks and adapt activities as needed Assist with personal care (e.g., feeding, toileting) as required Warm meals when needed Build strong, respectful, and trusting relationships with participants Monitor and document individual goal progress Carry out additional support duties as assigned by leadership
Administrative:
Provide daily reports on participant progress and achievements Complete incident reports as requested by the Site Manager Maintain accurate daily logs in accordance with organizational policies Attend scheduled staff meetings
Qualifications:
Mission aligned Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities High school diploma required Must be 18 years or older Must pass background checks Basic computer skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Maintain a professional demeanor with a focus on advocacy, respect, and demonstrating a strong work ethic Must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable Strong ability to adapt and willingness to be flexible
