Job Description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Children & Teens (Respite / In‑Home Support) We are hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support children and teens with developmental, behavioral, or mental‑health needs in a respite care setting. Staff will provide supervision, skill‑building, emotional support, and a safe, structured environment. Responsibilities Provide daily support with routines (meals, hygiene reminders, bedtime routines, transitions) Engage youth in age‑appropriate activities at home and in the community Support emotional regulation using calm, consistent, trauma‑informed approaches Follow care plans, behavior support strategies, and safety procedures Assist with social skills, communication, and coping strategies Maintain a safe, clean, and predictable environment Provide transportation for outings or appointments (if applicable) Complete shift documentation accurately and on time Communicate clearly with supervisors about concerns, changes, or incidents Requirements Must be 18+ Able to pass a DHS background study Patient, reliable, and able to maintain professional boundaries Comfortable supporting children and teens with developmental or behavioral needs Willing to complete required training (CPR/First Aid, 245D trainings, medication assistance if needed) Valid driver's license No experience required — training provided Schedule & Pay Part‑time and full‑time shifts available Flexible scheduling Paid training Competitive hourly rate About the Youth You'll Support Children and teens receiving respite or in‑home support May need help with routines, emotional regulation, and community engagement Benefit from calm, patient, predictable staff who can model positive behavior Why Work With Us Supportive team and training Meaningful work that makes a real impact Opportunities to grow your skills in youth care and behavioral support Consistent shifts and a positive work environment
