Job Description

The House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the home. Will function as a team leader and structure the daily shifts to ensure the individuals living in the home receive the highest quality of care possible. Will supervise staff in the household, ensuring scheduling is appropriate for the individuals needs and replace staff as needed, facilitate staff meetings and complete necessary paperwork among other duties. Typical schedule is 40 hours/week, 12 hours a week on direct care in the home typically from 3:00pm - 9:00pm but this can vary depending on needs of the home. Remainder of hours are designed as paperwork time and staff interaction time which is also spent in the home. Need to be flexible with hours to meet staffing and/or individual's needs. The position requires on call hours for homes in the neighborhood every 4th weekend. The HM needs to be innovative, flexible and organized. Must be able to balance many tasks at one time, be a role model to all direct support professionals, and have a positive attitude during challenging situations. This position requires someone who is an effective communicator and self-directed. HM's must be an approved CLO driver. Must be able to assist in therapeutic intervention, understanding of issues involving mental health, and be able to negotiate stairs. Must also have knowledge and experience with person centered service delivery. Candidates must have a good work history and professional work references.
