As an experienced Community Living Specialist (DSP) with Easterseals, you'll work alongside people with disabilities to help them thrive in their homes and their community. The Community Living Specialist is equivalent to a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and provides daily assistance, care taking, medication administration, and individualized supports for people with disabilities living in their home. This position provides direct care, education, advocacy, and implementation of individualized support plans while ensuring services meet organizational guidelines and accreditation standards. We are especially seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals who are confident supporting individuals with developmental disabilities who may have complex behavioral support needs, including implementing individualized behavior support plans, using de-escalation strategies, and maintaining a calm, structured environment in homes where individuals may engage in behaviors that require additional support.
Compensation:
Base pay range: Starting at $20-$22 per hour, based on experience. Team members with experience who are placed in designated higher-behavioral homes will earn an additional $1-$2 per hour differential when working in those settings, bringing total potential hourly earnings up to $22-$24 per hour.

Must have your own vehicle, and documentation for a valid driver's license and car insurance. At least one year of experience providing direct support (as a DSP/Direct Support Professional) to individuals with disabilities required. Experience supporting individuals with behavioral support needs is strongly preferred. An RBT certification is not required for this position. Must have basic computer skills and be able to work with a variety of computer systems.
