Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant specializing in Behavior Support and In-Home Care! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, individualized support to young adults with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. Your expertise will help clients achieve their personal goals, enhance their quality of life, and foster independence. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through patient-centered care, behavioral interventions, and tailored support plans. You will work closely with families to provide effective assistance in a home environment. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and safety Implement behavioral therapy strategies based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Collect and document data related to client behavior, progress, and response to interventions accurately and consistently Support clients with activities aligned with Activity Support Plans and strategies tailored to individual needs Maintain detailed medical documentation, care plans, and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and accuracy Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, review, and update personalized behavior management plans Provide emotional support and patient care that fosters trust, safety, and well-being for clients with developmental disabilities or autism Requirements Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, and behavior management strategies Ability to assist effectively with ADLs while maintaining client dignity and independence Strong skills in data collection, service notes documentation, and understanding terminology relevant to client care Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of medical records and personal information Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families and team members Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role Join us in creating a supportive environment where every individual receives personalized care that empowers them to thrive!
