Job Description

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
- Immediate Hire Compassionate Hearts is looking for individuals that are willing to work and be hired immediately. The Direct Support Professional must have a high school diploma or the equivalent and one or more years' experience in working with adults in a health care or social service setting. In addition, the DSP must have received training in working with older adults and in conducting activities for Intellectual and Developmental Disabled individuals. The Direct Support Professional will be required to have a high school diploma or a Ged. Direct Support Professional will be required to attend on the job training. The following are duties of the
Direct Support Professional:
Duties may include: Working in a Supervised Living location. Working in a Day Service facility for Adults. providing personal care and assistance to participants; working with other staff members as required in implementing and carrying out services and activities and in meeting the needs of individual participants; and assisting with transportation of and escorting participants to, from, and within the facility, if appropriate. Provide companionship by talking to, playing games with, or going for walks with clients Help clients with tasks related to hygiene, such as bathing, brushing teeth, and going to the bathroom Help transfer clients from a bed to a wheelchair or vice versa Complete housekeeping tasks, such as changing bed linens, washing dishes, and cleaning living areas Help prepare and plan meals Organize a client's schedule and plan appointments Arrange transportation to doctors' offices or to the store Help clients pay bills or manage money Shop for personal items and groceries Direct Support Professional may be required to work night shifts.
