Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide essential support and care to individuals in an independent living facility. We are looking for someone to stay overnight with one of our patients for a few weeks until they are strong enough to be on their own. We are looking to start someone asap for one of our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for those with varying needs, including elderly clients, individuals with developmental disabilities, and patients requiring specialized care. This role requires a blend of professional skills and personal empathy to ensure the comfort and well-being of our clients. Duties Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing changes in condition. Assist with medication management and reminders to ensure adherence to prescribed treatments. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences. Facilitate social interaction and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in client behavior or health status accurately. Collaborate with healthcare professionals as needed for optimal patient care. Qualifications Previous experience in home care, nursing, or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and basic medical procedures is essential. Certification in CPR is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Familiarity with dementia care practices and hospice care principles is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and families. Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and understanding in all interactions. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while adhering to safety protocols.
