Job Description About the Role We are seeking an energetic, community‑minded Direct Support Professional to provide person‑centered support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, engaging in community activities, and motivating others to build independence and confidence. Multiple positions are available. We are seeking a compassionate and dependable female Direct Support Professional to provide in-home and community support for an adult female with Cerebral Palsy in the Charlotte area.
Position Details:
Hours:
Approximately 30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Weekends:
Availability required for at least 2 weekends per month (flexible scheduling)
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide full physical assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs) Perform safe lifting and transfers, including assistance in and out of wheelchair, bed, and shower Assist with toileting, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene Provide feeding assistance as needed Assist and support the member with communication, including expressing needs, choices, and preferences Support mobility, positioning, and comfort throughout the day Assist with daily routines and limited community activities as appropriate Maintain dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform frequent lifting, transferring, and physical support using proper body mechanics Ability to meet the physical demands of the position safely
Qualifications:
Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities preferred Patient, reliable, and compassionate Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively Must meet all agency and background check requirements This position is best suited for someone who is physically capable, attentive, and committed to supporting an adult female in a respectful and person-centered manner.
