$15.00-$17.00 per hour
Schedule:
Various shifts, including evenings, overnight awake shifts, weekends, plus holidays as needed Job Overview Ree's Place is seeking compassionate, dependable Direct Support Professionals to join our team in a 24-hour youth group home serving teenage boys with mental health, emotional, plus behavioral needs. The DSP provides direct supervision, emotional support, daily living assistance, plus therapeutic guidance. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, structured, nurturing environment while helping residents build independence, strengthen life skills, plus improve their overall well-being. Primary Responsibilities Maintain a safe, supportive environment for all residents. Provide continuous supervision based on each resident's needs. Build respectful, positive relationships with residents. Encourage independence through self-help activities plus daily living skills. Follow each resident's individualized service plan, behavioral plan, plus safety guidelines. Use approved behavior-management techniques when responding to challenging behaviors. Provide emotional support, redirection, plus therapeutic guidance. Assist residents with meal planning, food preparation, serving meals, plus kitchen cleanup. Engage residents in recreational, educational, social, plus community-based activities. Transport residents to appointments, community outings, shopping trips, plus errands as needed. Administer medications according to prescribed schedules, agency procedures, plus training requirements. Accurately document medication administration. Complete clear, timely daily progress notes describing supervision, services, interventions, resident responses, plus progress. Enter required documentation into Therap, the agency's electronic health record system. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, families, healthcare providers, plus other professionals. Report safety concerns, behavioral incidents, medication issues, plus changes in a resident's condition promptly. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, plus overall safety of the home. Complete other resident-support duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a youth group home, residential program, assisted-living setting, behavioral health program, or disability-services setting is preferred. Experience supporting youth with mental health, emotional, or behavioral needs is strongly preferred. Valid driver's license. Reliable personal vehicle. Current automobile insurance. Ability to safely transport residents when required. Strong written, verbal, plus interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain calm, professional, plus supportive during challenging situations. Ability to follow individualized plans, medication procedures, documentation standards, plus agency policies. Willingness to work assigned shifts, including weekends, overnight awake shifts, plus holidays when needed. Dependable attendance plus punctuality are required.
