Direct Support Associate Position Status:

Candidate must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.Experience Requirements:
Candidate must be reliable, patient, and comfortable encouraging independence. Background in human services, psychology, education, or caregiving is helpful, but not required. Qualified applicants must be 18 years or older, have a current driver's license, reliable transportation and are able to pass background check. About the Role The Arc of NC is seeking a friendly, motivated Direct Support Professional to support a young male with Cerebral Palsy. He enjoys listening to audiobooks, socializing, and spending time with loved ones. As a Direct Support Associate, you will provide meaningful support and make a real difference in someone's life while gaining hands-on experience. Flexible hours Supportive environment Training provided Key Responsibilities- Provide gentle physical assistance with mobility, positioning, and safe transfers
- Provide positive, patient guidance while promoting independence
- Encourage communication, confidence, and social engagement
- Engage him in enjoyable activities at home or in the community
- Ensure safety, dignity, and comfort at all times
Qualifications:
Experience working with teens or individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities. Strong communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor. Ability to provide positive behavior support and model appropriate social interactions. Reliable transportation and willingness to transport the individual if needed. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Background check required.Schedule & Compensation:
