FIRSTwnc is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Coach to support an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Hendersonville area. This is primarily a sleeping overnight position , with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule. Typical shifts are 8:00 PM-8:00/9:00 AM , depending on the day.
Compensation:
$19/hour for approximately 2-3 awake hours per overnight shift $80 flat rate for the sleeping overnight portion of each shift Awake hourly rate increases to $20/hour after 6 months of successful employment This position may be filled by one person working the full schedule or split between two employees, depending on availability. What You'll Do As a DSP Coach, you'll provide individualized support that helps the person you work with build independence, maintain a healthy daily routine, and work toward their personal goals. Your support will be based on the individual's unique strengths, preferences, needs, and goals.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting activities of daily living (ADLs), including cooking, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, personal care, and hygiene Assisting with evening and morning routines Providing transportation to a day program in the morning Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and increased independence Assisting with pet care and household responsibilities Providing a safe, supportive presence throughout the overnight hours Encouraging personal growth, choice, and self-direction Completing required documentation related to services provided Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, patient, and comfortable working independently .
