Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as an In Home Caregiver (Direct Support Professional), where your compassionate nature and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in the life of our special needs daughter needing support with daily activities and personal care. This vital role involves providing personalized assistance in our home, ensuring her safety, comfort, and well-being. You will be a trusted companion and caregiver, helping her maintain independence while receiving the highest quality of care. Your energetic and positive attitude will foster a nurturing environment that promotes dignity and respect for her. Responsibilities Assist her with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Assist her in completing daily activities, such as reading books, playing on the computer and working on her goals. Monitors her well-being and report any health or safety concerns to the Employer of Record (which is the mother). Provides guidance, encouragement and emotional support in accordance with the Individual Support Plan (ISP) Assists her in participating in social and recreational activities, outings and events. Maintains accurate records of daily activities, incidents and progress notes as required. Acts as a liaison between her, family members, health care providers and other service professionals. Follow all procedures and confidentiality guidelines to ensure ethical and professional care. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe living environment Use her assistive device (wheelchair) safely during transfers and mobility assistance. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus, but not required. Must be 18 years old. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Prefer the employee lives relatively close (location is in Matthews, NC) and can be at the location within 30 minutes. Reliable. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to have a flexible schedule if needed. Basic proficiency in English in reading, writing and communication skills. Employee must obtain and maintain all required trainings, including but not limited to CPR and First Aid certification, as well as any additional trainings mandated by the Employer of Record, which will be kept on file for compliance purposes. Employer of Record will pay for the trainings that are required, if the employee does not already have the certifications. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy and the ability to provide compassionate care.
Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
