Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Alternative Family Living (AFL) Providers to create nurturing, supportive home environments for individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and other behavioral health needs. As an AFL Provider, you will serve as a vital part of our community-based care team, offering personalized assistance that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. This role is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals by providing stable, caring, and engaging home settings within your household where they can thrive. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs to promote positive behaviors and emotional stability. Support communication efforts using various methods including verbal skills, American Sign Language (ASL), or other assistive communication tools. Facilitate social interactions and community engagement activities to foster independence and social skills development. Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in compliance with regulations. Collect and maintain detailed data on individual progress, behaviors, and care routines to inform ongoing support plans. Drive clients safely to appointments, community outings, or activities while maintaining a clean driving record and adhering to safety standards. Collaborate with families, behavioral health professionals, social workers, and educational teams to coordinate care plans effectively. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices is advantageous. Home and community care experience demonstrating caregiving skills in diverse settings is desirable. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and data collection methods used in supporting individuals with disabilities. Experience in medication administration, assisting with ADLs, or providing direct support in residential or community-based environments is beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with individuals, families, team members, and community partners. Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required for transportation responsibilities. $107.00 - $155.00 per day
