About JCI Johnston County Industries, Inc. (JCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and barriers to employment through training, employment, and community-based services. Since 1975, JCI has helped people build skills, find employment, and achieve greater independence. Position Overview We are looking for a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with disabilities in reaching their personal, employment, education, and community goals. This position provides individualized coaching and support while promoting independence, dignity, and participation in the community. This position does not involve personal care or bathroom-related care. Essential Duties Provide individualized support based on each person's goals and support plan. Coach individuals in socialization, job readiness, employment, and daily living skills. Support individuals in pursuing employment, education, and community activities. Build positive relationships while promoting independence and dignity. Communicate and collaborate with families, guardians, coworkers, and other professionals as appropriate. Maintain accurate documentation of services, activities, and individual progress. Follow established procedures, instructions, and safety guidelines. Adapt to individual needs and use appropriate problem-solving skills to support successful outcomes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. NC driver's license required. Dependable and punctual with good attendance. Compassionate, patient, and able to build positive relationships with individuals with disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Able to follow instructions and complete required documentation. Previous experience working in human services with individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment is preferred. NCI, CPR/AED, and First Aid training will be provided. Non-Essential Functions Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
