Role:
A Caring Heart is seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Respite House team. This role focuses on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a calm, residential setting during all hours of the days and nights.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals in a Respite House environment Assist with daily activities including hygiene, meals, and recreation Maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment Follow individualized care plans and accurately document daily activities
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of unsupervised driving experience Access to a reliable vehicle with valid NC insurance, registration, and inspection Ability to read, write, interpret, and communicate in English Strong commitment to putting the needs of the people we support first
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with housekeeping, staff training, and on-call responsibilities Dependable with a strong work ethic At least 2+ years of experience working with the IDD population

A Respite House provides temporary care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, giving primary caregivers a chance to rest while ensuring their loved ones receive professional attention in a safe and supportive environment.
