Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and become a vital part of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this energetic and rewarding role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care and support that promotes growth, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation. Support behavioral health needs through positive behavior management techniques and effective communication strategies. Facilitate participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to promote social skills and independence. Collect data on progress toward individual goals, maintaining accurate records for documentation and reporting purposes. Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document administration accurately. Use American Sign Language or other communication methods to enhance understanding and interaction with individuals with communication challenges. Drive clients safely to appointments, activities, or community events using company vehicles when required. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism in home or community settings. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals of diverse needs and backgrounds. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate caregiving tailored to each person's needs. Familiarity with behavioral health concepts and medication administration protocols. Experience in data collection, documentation, and maintaining detailed records of care activities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to support transportation responsibilities.
