Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Summary The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a key role in delivering hands-on senior care, supporting residents with daily living activities, and promoting comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. Working closely with nurses and the healthcare team, PCAs help ensure exceptional care for residents in our lifecare community. Key Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Support safe mobility and transfers using proper techniques Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) Assist with meal support, nutrition, and hydration Observe and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff Maintain accurate electronic and written documentation Provide companionship and emotional support Escort residents to activities and promote engagement and quality of life Respond appropriately in emergency situations Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care Qualifications CPR certification required Experience working with the geriatric or senior population preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Team-oriented with the ability to work independently Demonstrated critical thinking and sound judgment Why Work at RiverMead?
