Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain a safe, comfortable environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, safety, and fostering a positive community atmosphere. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health by observing vital signs and reporting any concerns promptly. Administer medications following proper protocols and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support residents during meal preparation and cooking, ensuring nutritional needs are met while promoting independence. Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or autism-specific care. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to sanitation standards. Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with patient transfers safely and effectively. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Demonstrated commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care in a compassionate manner.
