Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes in accordance with care plans. Administer medications safely following HIPAA guidelines and medication protocols, ensuring accurate documentation. Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while maintaining a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety at all times. Observe and document client behaviors, especially those related to dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or neurodevelopmental disorders like autism; communicate effectively with team members about care needs. Implement specialized care strategies for residents with memory care needs or developmental disabilities while fostering respectful communication and engagement. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of client information. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training in hospice care or geriatrics is a plus. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism enhances your ability to provide tailored support.
