Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will empower and assist residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, respectful environment. Your dedication will help enhance quality of life for those you serve while building meaningful relationships and ensuring their well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact in a dynamic caregiving setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following prescribed care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, incident reports, and resident progress in compliance with privacy standards. Ensure a safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and adherence to safety procedures in group home or assisted living settings. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease in settings such as group homes or assisted living facilities. Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Certifications in CPR and First Aid; experience with HIPAA compliance is highly valued. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts. Strong observational skills for patient safety, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or home health environments. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed. $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
