Job Description

Responsibilities:
The Direct Support Professional is responsible to provide 1:1 support to individuals with developmental disabilities at home and or in the community. The behavior support professional will provide assistance in helping our individuals maintain/increase independence, dignity, privacy, choice, and individuality. Complete required training Foster and support a safe, positive, supportive and nurturing work environment Attend scheduled meetings to discuss client progress goals and individual performance Attend training on, and implement behavior support plans as needed Support individuals in developing and meeting their service plan goals Accurate and timely completion of timesheets and service logs
Education Requirements:
High school diploma (minimum requirement) Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
Training and Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License Minimum 1 year of Human Service Experience Experience with personal Care (toileting, bathing) Experience with behavior support (managing aggression/self-injury, elopement) Professional writing and verbal communication DDD Shifting Expectations Prevention of Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation DDD Life-Threatening Emergencies (Danielle's Law) Additional specialized training (Free training will be facilitated by Friends of Cyrus based on need/assignment) Essential physical/sensory demands and travel involved with the position: (See below for list of frequent job-related demands) Standing; Walking; Lifting; Carrying; Pushing / Pulling; Bending; Reaching; Visual; Hearing; Speaking; Running; Driving; Use of personal vehicle

Part-time (4 days per week 11:30 am to 3:30 pm)
Requirements:
Experience with Aspergers and have interest in film-making
