Position Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points on the driver's abstract
• Possess a reliable vehicle with at least liability insurance, & willing to use their vehicle for work purposes.
• Must pass fingerprinting, initial, and random drug testing, complete CARI and Central Registry of Offenders against individuals with developmental disabilities

• Must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training.

Primary Responsibilities :

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assist individuals with developmental disabilities with their preferred and requested services. DSPs' responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping individuals with daily activities, accompanying them to doctor appointments, cooking and serving meals, performing housekeeping duties, running errands, connecting the individual with community resources, and providing companionship.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Adhere to scheduled work hours
• Clock in and out of their shift through the agency's electronic record.
• Review individuals' NJISP and PCPT prior to starting services
• Meet with the individual in an agreed-upon location.
• Provide services to the individual as per the NJISP and PCPT
• Report any discrepancies between services and the NJISP and PCPT
• Complete Service Logs for each shift worked within 24 hours of their shift
• Supports behavioral needs by adhering to established support plans and documenting progress appropriately.
• Supports individuals with their daily goals and community integration.
• Assists with day-by-day operations with the individual in accordance with regulatory requirements, agency policy, and quality program standards.
• Ensures individuals' health, safety, and welfare, enhances the quality of individuals' lives, and supports community inclusion.
• Remain active on all agency communication platforms such as HHAX, email, and text
• Attend All Staff Meetings as scheduled (Virtual or in-person)
• Utilize electronic platforms identified by the agency to maintain current documentation
• Ensure compliance with state-mandated regulations.
• Report all incidents, injuries, or unusual incidents and complete documentation prior to the end of the shift
• Comply with all Federal Laws, DHS-DDD Community Care Program (CCP & Supports Program (SP) Manual, New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities standards and circulars, local regulations, and those of Devoted Care Support Services Policies and Procedures
• Must cooperate with Devoted Care Support Services and the Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
• Must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training, as mandated by the Division of Developmental Disabilities and the state of New Jersey
• Meet annual Professional Development and training requirements
• Stay abreast of all Division, state, and federal mandates and changes.
• Performs other duties as required.
