Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for patients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or those requiring hospice care. This role requires a blend of caregiving skills and the ability to follow care plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider. Support clients with mobility and physical exercises as prescribed in their care plan. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and in good working order. Assist with medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed treatment plans. Provide specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia, employing techniques that promote comfort and understanding. Skills Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Strong skills in assisting with personal care tasks and meal preparation. Familiarity with dementia care techniques and hospice care practices is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy. Excellent observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively. Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and families. Ability to work independently as well as part of a healthcare team, demonstrating flexibility in various situations.
