In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, assisting them in daily activities and promoting their independence.
Duties:
  • Utilization of your own vehicle to transport clients to and from their home, into the community, and regularly to our center in Woodbury.
  • Provide daily living assistance to clients, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Support clients with various tasks, such as household chores, grocery shopping, and transportation.
  • Engage clients in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Offer companionship and support to clients in their daily routines.
  • Collaborate with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.
  • Administer medications and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility issues.
  • Uphold resident rights, ensuring that clients are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients with developmental disabilities, focusing on their growth and development.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of caregiving and resident rights.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Qualifications:
  • REQUIRED
    3+ years experience in caregiving, including patient observation and assisting with activities of daily living.
  • REQUIRED
    Valid Driver's license, insurance, and registration (use of own vehicle)
  • CPR Certification Required.
  • First aid certification and experience in medication administration.
  • Ability to work with individuals with disabilities and respect clients' rights
  • Strong communication skills and ability to create and implement care plans
  • Willingness to perform heavy lifting tasks
  • Familiarity with home care and community living settings.
  • Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of promoting client autonomy.
  • Commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to meet the demands of the role.
Extra:
  • probationary period post hire
  • $19/hr.
during probationary period, then increases based on experience and hours worked over time.
