Canastota, NY Job Details Per diem $28 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Self-Direction DSP - Canastota Ny Area (Job #JF-OS) An 18-year-old in the Canastota area is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist them with getting out into the community, finding volunteer opportunities, and developing their social skills. The individuals' passions include playing video games and shopping. The ideal candidate will be able to work with the individual to become familiar with the area they live in and discover some social opportunities within their community. The DSP will provide consistent encouragement, ensure safety, and help create meaningful, engaging routines that build confidence and autonomy. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and energetic, with a supportive and engaging approach. You should feel comfortable participating in outdoor activities, trying new experiences together, and helping them explore their interests. While experience working with people with disabilities is helpful, it is not required—what matters most is creativity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to empowering others to thrive.
The hours are flexible:
they would be day hours (up to 8 per week), and weekends are open as well. The pay rate is $28 per hour. Must have a valid drivers license Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by
ARISE/EFR'S
technology policy.
