Direct Support Professional

Advocates, Inc. is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) within the Cortland area to assist a Cornell faculty member with a disability in the evenings. Duties include assistance with meals, personal care tasks (using the restroom/showering), speech interpretation, light housekeeping and other activities of daily living. The candidate must be professional, reliable, flexible and has good organizational skills. Individuals must also be comfortable working with and around a diverse set of people including people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ community, and other minorities. Hours And Days Of Work Monday-Friday (5:00 pm-11:00pm) Pay rate: $20/hour when providing direct support with a potential raise 90 days after employment. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $15.50/hour.

Cortland, NY Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency.
