Job Description
Full-Time & Part-Time | Day, Evening & Overnight Shifts Available Make a Difference Every Day. Build a Career That Matters. Day Shift:
7:00 AM- 3:00 PM (Saturday & Sunday)
Evening Shift A:
3:00 PM- 11:00 PM (Tues

Evening Shift B:
3:00 PM- 6:00 PM (Monday

Overnight Shift:

Responsibilities include:
Assisting individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, dining, and personal hygiene Supporting mobility needs, including transfers, ambulation, and wheelchair assistance Encouraging independence, skill-building, and personal growth Assisting individuals in participating in community activities, appointments, recreation, shopping, and social events Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment Administering medications after certification and maintaining required certifications Completing required documentation and records in accordance with OPWDD and agency requirements Following individualized support plans, nursing care plans, behavior support plans, and safety protocols Participating in required training courses, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities Performing other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Successful DSPs are: Compassionate and patient Reliable and dependable Positive and team-oriented Comfortable supporting individuals with varying levels of independence Committed to helping others achieve their goals Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required Valid New York State Driver's License required Ability to pass required background screenings in accordance with OPWDD regulations Ability to obtain required tuberculosis testing Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications, including CPR, First Aid, and SCIP-R (provided through paid training) No prior DSP experience required. We will train the right candidates who have a passion for helping others. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday Ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and supporting individuals as needed Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in a hands-on caregiving environment Ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed At Lochland, we don't just provide care — we build relationships, celebrate successes, and create opportunities for individuals to thrive.
