Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized care. This vital role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is highly valued. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient monitoring and observe for any changes in health or behavior Administer medication and assist with medication management according to care plans Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and care plans Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and well-being Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas to ensure a safe environment Respond promptly to emergencies using CPR or first aid skills when necessary Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care Skills Proven experience in assisted living, home health, hospice, or long-term care environments Knowledge of patient care procedures including vital signs monitoring and medication administration Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, and other developmental disabilities Strong observational skills for patient safety and health status changes Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of resident information Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided upon hire Compassionate attitude with patience for working with vulnerable populations across diverse care needs This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support.
