As a Direct Support Professional III, you will play an important role in delivering quality supports that empower people to reach their fullest potential. Responsibilities include implementing individualized support plans, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, administering medications when required, supporting community integration, and fostering a safe, positive, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Successful candidates demonstrate initiative, accountability, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. You will build positive relationships with people receiving services, families, employers, community partners, and coworkers while maintaining confidentiality and advocating for the rights and well-being of others.
Direct Support Professional Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, leadership abilities, and crisis management skills are essential. Candidates should possess basic computer proficiency, maintain required certifications, and be able to operate office equipment, medical equipment, and agency vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans. A valid New York State driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. This position may also require transporting people receiving services and maintaining a working telephone for agency communication.
