Head Injury Association is seeking full-time/part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide direct care to individuals supported in our residential programs which are located throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Essential Job Responsibilities Ensuring health, wellness and safety and providing appropriate supervision of people supported Building positive relationships with individuals supported as well as fellow co-workers Using effective communication and time management skills Completing mandatory trainings based on program and position (AMAP, CPR/First Aid, SCIP-R, Defensive Driving, etc.) Adhering to HIA's policies, procedures and regulations Completing documentation to ensure compliance and billing Transporting and escorting people we support on recreational activities, medical appointments, home visits, community outings, etc. Helping the individuals we support achieve their goals

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required Prior work or life experience working with people with disabilities. Must have a valid NYS license Basic written and verbal communication

• AMAP, SCIP and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred
