Direct Support Professional - Syracuse Are you looking for a rewarding way to make a difference while making a living? INDERA (Formally Expectational Family Resources/ARISE) is seeking a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young man with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate for the DSP position will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills. Please respond with resume or summary of experience. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work:
Any Day of the week Flexible schedule Hours can be made specific Pay rate: $25.00 per hour when providing direct support.
Location:
Syracuse, NY Must have a valid driver's license Must be at least 18 years old Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
