Job Description
Independent Equality Solutions LLC (IES) is hiring two experienced, dependable, and professional Direct Support Professionals for our residential home in Brunswick, Ohio . We are looking for career DSPs , not entry-level applicants. These positions require professionalism, independence, strong documentation skills, and the ability to provide quality care with minimal supervision. Due to the nature of these positions, only applicants who meet all minimum qualifications will be contacted for interviews. If you are looking for a position where you can sit on your phone all shift or simply "watch the house," this is not the job for you. Available Positions Position 1
- Full-Time Overnight Sleep DSP Schedule
- Monday Night
- Friday Night
- 10:00 PM
- 6:00 AM
- 40 Hours Per Week Pay
- $14.00 per hour Sleep Shift Expectations This is an on-site sleep position . Staff are permitted to sleep when client needs have been addressed; however, staff are expected to:
- Remain inside the home for the entire shift
- Be available to respond immediately if an individual requires assistance
- Complete overnight safety checks
- Assist with toileting or overnight support as needed
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or medical concerns
- Complete required overnight documentation
- Maintain a safe and secure environment Sleep is permitted during designated hours, but interruptions may occur. Staff must be able to wake immediately and provide support whenever necessary. Position 2

$18.00/hour Position Responsibilities Sunday Overnight (10 PM-6 AM)- Remain on-site throughout the shift
- Sleep is permitted when duties allow
- Respond immediately if client assistance is required
- Complete overnight safety checks and documentation
- Assist with toileting or overnight needs if necessary Morning Shift (6 AM-10 AM) Beginning at 6:00 AM, this becomes a fully awake and active DSP shift .
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting individuals with morning routines
- Personal hygiene and dressing
- Preparing breakfast
- Medication administration (if assigned)
- Preparing individuals for work or appointments
- Household responsibilities
- Completing documentation before the end of the shift Primary Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support according to each individual's ISP
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Support health, safety, independence, and community participation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and coworkers
- Follow behavior support plans
- Report concerns promptly
- Complete assigned responsibilities each shift Documentation Responsibilities Documentation is one of the most important responsibilities of this position.
DSPs are expected to:
- Complete accurate daily service notes
- Document ISP goals and supports provided
- Document behaviors and interventions
- Complete medication documentation (when assigned)
- Complete incident reports
- Complete household and safety logs
- Submit documentation accurately and on time Incomplete or inaccurate documentation is considered a performance issue.
Staff are expected to:
- Stay engaged throughout the shift
- Take initiative without constant supervision
- Complete assigned household responsibilities
- Provide quality, person-centered support
- Maintain professionalism at all times
- Report to work on time and consistently For sleep shifts, staff may sleep when client needs have been met but must immediately respond if assistance is required. Minimum Qualifications (Required) All applicants MUST meet every requirement below to be considered:
- Minimum one (1) year of verifiable Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience
- Current Ohio DODD Medication Administration Certification
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience implementing Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
- Experience completing daily documentation
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to pass all Ohio DODD background checks
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Must live within a 30-minute driving radius of Brunswick, Ohio.
