Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to an individual with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities. In this vital role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and foster a safe, respectful environment. Responsibilities:
Engage clients in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental stimulation. Observe and document clients' conditions through patient observation and monitoring, reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and meal preparation aligned with dietary needs. Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and proper manual handling techniques to ensure resident safety at all times. Transport the client to and from medical appointments, community activities and shopping trips Follow outcomes and supports as outlined in their individual service plan Requirements Prior experience working in home health care is highly preferred. Knowledge of autism support or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus. Ability to perform patient monitoring tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient observation with attention to detail. Familiarity with medication administration procedures is desirable. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, and assist with mobility needs. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in DODD trainings are required by the Department of Developmental Disabilities Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays supports success in this role.
