Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve engaging with clients in a meaningful way, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' social interactions and overall well-being. Monitor clients' health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs, including those requiring memory care or dementia care. Engage clients in recreational activities that promote physical and mental stimulation. Provide transportation for recreational activities, appointments and other needs. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by following established health and safety protocols. Collaborate with family members and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Skills Experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, particularly in memory care, senior care, or long-term care settings. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Excellent observational skills for patient monitoring and identifying changes in behavior or health status. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role. Professional skills working as a positive team member.
