Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including home care, group homes, and memory care facilities. Your commitment to fostering independence and dignity for those you support is crucial to our mission. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Provide medication administration as required, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules. Support clients in social interactions and community engagement to promote inclusion. Facilitate communication between clients and family members or other caregivers. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as needed to ensure client safety and comfort. Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate personnel. Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge related to client care. Qualifications Experience in home care, hospice care, memory care, or working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary. A background in social work or related fields is advantageous but not required. Must be patient, empathetic, and committed to promoting the well-being of individuals with disabilities. Valid certifications relevant to direct support roles may be required based on state regulations.
