Job Description

Position Summary:
The Homemaker Personal Care Assistant provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home setting. This role focuses on companionship, promoting independence, and assisting with daily activities, including personal care.
Essential Functions:
Perform all delegated nursing services as outlined in the individual's task analysis Provide assistance with meals and personal care Engage members in community activities and volunteering Responsible for completing all required documentation Responsible for following all programs as outlined in the member's ISP and Behavior Support Plan. Ensuring all services are provided in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with each individual's ISP Participate in team planning meetings as needed in conjunction with the Supportive Living Coordinator Ensure the health and safety of all individuals Maintain a clean and safe living environment Assist with daily living tasks - grocery shopping, meal preparation, transportation to appointments, recreational activities, etc. If necessary, fill in as an alternate at various worksites or other divisions Uphold the rights, dignity, and respect of all members Other duties as assigned Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred Compassionate, patient, and dependable Ability to follow support plans and communicate clearly with team members Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Ability to pass background checks and required screenings Must remain in compliance with all regulatory standards governing program services, including appropriate trainings Must have or obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification Must be able to read, write, and understand English Must be able to lift at least 50lbs on a regular basis Must have the ability to be flexible with schedule, if needed Ability to assist individuals with challenging behaviors through implementation of supported plans Alpha is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members and individuals served.
