Job Description

Must Have:
Driver's License, Vehicle, Auto Insurance Homewatch CareGivers of Beachwood is looking for that individual who has experience as well as certification in Developmental Disabilities. Direct Support Professionals (DSP) work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by creating behavior plans, teaching self-care skills, cooking meals and doing laundry. This role has the opportunity for additional hours working with our senior clients as well. Additional duties for the DSP role may include: Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules while carefully following instructions to care for the needs of the client Interpersonal skills when working with clients, including having compassion and being sensitive to their emotional needs when they are in extreme distress or pain Physical stamina when performing tasks such as lifting or turning their clients
Qualifications:
You must have 1 year of DSP Experience, Valid Driver's License, Automobile, Auto Insurance, High school Diploma/ GED, CPR, First Aid, 2 hours Developmental Disabilities (DD) certification class, and a Med Pass 1. We will assist with the 8 hour certification once hired. You must also be able to pass a background test and drug screen. Competitive pay based on experience.
