In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include patient observation, assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), NMT (non medical transportation) and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all clients. We service clients in Lucas and Wood Counties. Responsibilities A Direct Support Professional will provide daily care and engagement while advocating for the rights of the Individuals we support. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces, including cooking and cleaning tasks as needed. Dress/Groom Meal Prep and Feeding Toileting and hygiene care Bathing and showering Medication Administration Participate in community outings, connect with families, attend concerts, movies & swimming Engagement and activities Support and companionship Assist with all duties assigned Provide transportation to and from work. Qualifications A Direct Support Professional must have a strong interest in supporting others and show compassion and empathy to those they are working with. Prior Direct Support Professional experience or Familiarity with caregiving practices for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus but not required. First aid and CPR certification are required (if you don't have it we can refer you to a class to get it) additional training in patient monitoring is a plus. Strong observational skills to assess clients needs and report changes effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members. Reliability and consistency are a MUST. High School Diploma or GED Valid Drivers License, good driving record and proof of auto Insurance 18 years or older Pass criminal background check along with BCI/FBI fingerprints Able to lift 50 pounds
