Job Description
Mercy seeks a Primary Care Assistant (MA or LPN) to support providers in delivering compassionate, high-quality outpatient care. In this role, you will room patients, obtain vitals, perform basic clinical procedures within your scope, and document accurately in the EHR. You'll assist with scheduling, referrals, and patient follow-up, while maintaining exam rooms and infection-control standards. Responsibilities Support primary care providers with patient intake, vitals, and rooming Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, and specimen collection per scope Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up communications Reinforce patient education, care plans, and preventive care instructions Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection-control standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support quality, safe care Uphold Mercy's standards of compassion, diversity, and respect Required Skills Vital signs measurement Phlebotomy and specimen handling Administering injections and immunizations Electrocardiograms (EKG) Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Medical terminology Infection control and safety procedures Patient triage and intake Primary care workflows Basic wound care
