In this vital role, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment for those in your care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help promote independence, dignity, and well-being for clients of all ages, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting to promote comfort and independence Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems Support medication administration under supervision or as permitted by certification; ensure proper handling and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments; implement memory care protocols with patience and understanding Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheter care devices, and assistive devices; ensure safety and proper functioning at all times Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, long-term care, hospice, or outpatient settings; communicate effectively about patient needs and progress Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques; adhere to safety protocols during procedures like phlebotomy or wound care Qualifications Valid CNA certification or equivalent credential required; previous experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care preferred Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) procedures Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks/Cerner) for accurate documentation Ability to lift patients safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively within diverse teams and with patients of all ages including pediatrics when applicable Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Join us in delivering compassionate care that transforms lives!
