IDD Direct Support Professional

This is a driving position, and the requirements are as follows; have a valid Oregon driver's license, be over the age of 21, proof of current insurance, have a driver's license for 3 years, good driving record and pass a full drug screening including THC. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to ensure comfort and hygiene. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Therap systems. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status and report any concerns promptly. Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, employing behavior management strategies to promote safety and stability. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility support while maintaining proper body mechanics. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Drive residents to appointments or community activities using company vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations. Document care activities thoroughly in Therap, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and care plans. Collaborate with team members, social workers, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that promote resident well-being. Skills Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on long-term care or group home settings. Strong knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and behavior management techniques. Ability to perform personal care tasks safely while respecting resident dignity and independence. Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members effectively. Familiarity with Therap for documentation and record keeping. Maintain a clean driving record for transportation duties. Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift residents using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment, and perform caregiving duties throughout shifts.
