Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) needs a caring individual who is passionate about helping others. This key role has a massive impact on the well-being of our patients by delivering safe, quality patient and family-centered care. You will provide personal care by supporting activities of daily living, assisting in patient assessments and procedures, offering comfort measures to patients and their families, portering, as well as simple charting in patient's records. You will work closely with patients, families, caregivers, and all members of the health care team. The Town of Hinton in northwest Alberta, with its stunning view of the Rockies, is located about 284 kms west of Edmonton - close enough to visit friends and family on the weekends and holidays! You are also only 15 minutes from Jasper National Park and an hour from the Town of Jasper - perfect for that after work or day trip! Besides the national park, you can also take in the natural beauty of one of provincial parks just minutes away. In town, you'll find public and Catholic K-12 schools offering instruction in English and French, and arts, sports, cultural, and social activities across a wide spectrum. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.
