We are looking for the "right fit" to support an adult female in her home and out in the community at least two days per week. Please read the details of this job and the requirements. Applicants should be available for the times listed, able to provide transportation with your own car for community activities, have experience with supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and understand the PA ODP waiver services system with AWC. About the job:
- Provide direct support (SSP/DSP) to an individual in her home and in the community in the beautiful, natural Black River area of Bethlehem, PA 18015.
Hours/Days Needed:
Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30-4:30 with other hours arranged, such as longer Tues/Wed, adding Thursday after 3:00, etc. Up to 26 available hours with some flexibility. The two day shifts are a must, but start and end times and other hours can be worked out.- Day to
Day Activities:
Assist with starting the day and planning out activities, prompting and reminders, shopping, planning healthy meals, going for walks, engaging in and practicing conversation, practice using a communication device, community activities, finding opportunities for volunteering and supporting a consistent schedule, and more.
- Dogs in the home, they are part of family life so it is important that applicants are comfortable around them. Own car required and drivers license. Smoke free workplace.
Required:
Applicants should be willing to cooperate with required background checks, required training, and paperwork and have access to a safe, reliable vehicle and have a driver's license. Mileage for transportation during the shift (with the individual) is reimbursed. It is expected that professionals read and follow the ISP.- Paperwork, payroll, orientation and mileage support is through the Arc AWC for ODP waiver funded participant directed services.

Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with autism/intellectual disability preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to use apps, devices or learn about them
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with your own personal vehicle
